Italy, Poland, and Austria - the land of my forefathers. Although my heritage has provided me perspective about my family's origins, I can not say it has done much more. My ancestry has not been a driving force nor a predominant factor in my life; fortunately my decisions, actions, and freedoms are not defined by my European blood. It makes me grateful that I can say that something so universal has not become uncontrollably overriding, but it leaves me disheartened nonetheless for the little-to-none impact it has had.
